GAZA, Saturday, April 13, 2024 (WAFA) – Almost a score of Palestinians were killed and others were wounded in a series of Israeli airstrikes on the Nuseirat refugee camp in the central blockaded Gaza Strip, according to local sources.
They said that Israeli warplanes targeted a house of the Qashlan family in the New Camp of Nuseirat, causing it to collapse over the heads of its occupants and killing them.
The bodies of three occupants, namely Salah, Yasmin and Hanan Qashlan, were recovered from the wreckage, as the bodies of other occupants remain buried under the rubble.
Israeli airstrikes also targeted several houses, including a house of the Tawil family, and the Hirzallah Tower, in the camp, killing three occupants.
This came as Israeli fighter jets bombed the vicinity of Sheikh Zayed Towers in the northern Strip and artillery targeted the east of al-Bureij refugee camp.
Meanwhile, Ambulances and rescue teams managed to recover the bodies of 13 people from the rubble of destroyed buildings across Khan Younes city in the southern Strip.
Currently on trial before the International Court of Justice for genocide against Palestinians, Israel has been waging a devastating war on Gaza since October 7, killing at least 33,686 Palestinians and injuring over 76,309 others.
Moreover, at least 7,000 people are unaccounted for, presumed dead under the rubble of their homes throughout the Strip.
Palestinian and international organizations say that the majority of those killed and wounded are women and children.
The Israeli aggression has also resulted in the forceful displacement of nearly two million people from all over the Gaza Strip, with the vast majority of the displaced forced into the densely crowded southern city of Rafah near the border with Egypt – in what has become Palestine’s largest mass exodus since the 1948 Nakba.
