JERICHO, Thursday, March 21, 2024 (WAFA) – A Palestinian youth was killed and two others were injured, while two young men were arrested, in an incursion this evening by Israeli occupation forces into Aqabat Jabr refugee camp in the occupied West Bank province of Jericho.

Nasser Anani, director of Jericho Governmental Hospital, informed WAFA that one young man arrived at the hospital with critical head injuries. The young man, later identified as Ibrahim Abdel Rahim Qatash, was announced dead of his critical wounds about an hour later. Additionally, another young man was wounded by Israeli gunfire in the upper limbs but is in stable condition, while a young girl sustained injuries from bullet shrapnel.

Local sources within the camp told WAFA that a special Israeli military unit infiltrated the camp during the Iftar time and besieged a house belonging to the Al-Ayyouti family, where they arrested the two brothers, Amar and Hamdi Al-Ayyouti.

The Israeli raid sparked confrontations between local residents and the Israeli forces who occupied the roof of the besieged house and opened fire at the residents, resulting in the injury of three individuals, including a young girl. Ambulances were prevented from reaching the scene.

Israeli military raids and arrests in Palestinian cities, towns, and refugee camps have become frequent occurrences, often leading to confrontations and casualties among Palestinian residents.
