RAMALLAH, Sunday, October 29, 2023 (WAFA) – More than 1,590 Palestinians have been arrested by the Israeli occupation forces since the onset of the Israeli aggression against our people on October 7, the Palestinian Authority's Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS) said today.
In a joint statement, the Commission and the PPS pointed out that during the last night alone, Israeli occupation forces conducted an arrest campaign in the occupied West Bank that resulted in the detention of at least 35 Palestinians, including a woman.
The majority of these arrests were concentrated in the governorates of Nablus, Jenin, and Jerusalem. The remaining arrests were distributed across the governorates of Hebron, Qalqilya, Tubas, Salfit, and Tulkarm.
These arrests were accompanied by systematic harassment against detainees and their families, continuous threats, a policy of collective punishment, and deliberate acts of vandalism targeting the homes of civilians and individuals within the same family, said the statement.
