JERICHO, Thursday, October 26, 2023 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces continued today to impose restrictions and strict military measures around the city of Jericho, east of the occupied West Bank, severely obstructing the movement of Palestinian vehicles in and out of the city, according to local sources.

Eyewitnesses in Jericho reported that Israeli occupation forces have maintained military checkpoints at several entrances to the city. At these checkpoints, vehicles are subjected to random searches, and civilians are often forced to endure long waits, with only one vehicle being allowed to pass approximately every hour.

Such restrictions and the arduous wait times have been a source of frustration and inconvenience for the local population and anyone traveling to or from Jericho.

The ongoing presence of Israeli occupation military checkpoints and the related delays are part of a broader pattern of Israeli arbitrary measures in the West Bank.
