Israeli airstrikes in Gaza claim the lives of 44 people, including children, wounding dozens

GAZA, Tuesday, October 24, 2023 (WAFA) - At least 44 people, including children, were killed today and dozens were injured, some said to be critical and serious, in Israeli airstrikes at several homes in Khan Yunis and Rafah, in the south of Gaza Strip, al-Mughraqa, al-Nuseirat camp, and Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip.

WAFA correspondent, citing medical sources, said 18 people, including children, were killed and others were injured in an Israeli airstrike at a house belonging to the Isleim family.

Three other people were also killed after Israeli occupation aircraft targeted a car in the al-Mughraqa area in the central Gaza Strip.

According to medical sources, 12 people were extracted from under the rubble of the Awad family house, west of the Nuseirat camp, after it was bombed by Israeli warplanes.

In addition, five people were killed and dozens were injured in a bombing that targeted the home of the Zorob family, west of Rafah.

In Deir al-Balah, six people were killed in an airstrike at a house owned by the Shaldan family.

Search and rescue operations are still underway to extract victims from under the rubble of the targeted homes.

As the Israeli air raids on residential neighborhoods in various areas of the Gaza Strip continue for the 18th day, more than 5,700 people were killed and more than 16,000 citizens were injured, the majority of whom are children, women, and the elderly, and about 1,500 are still under the rubble of their bombed homes, including 630 children.
