RAMALLAH, Sunday, October 22, 2023 (WAFA) – At least 52 Palestinians were arrested by Israeli occupation forces last night during wide-scale raids into the southern West Bank provinces of Ramallah, Hebron, Tubas, Jenin, and Salfit, according to local and Palestinian security sources.
Most of the arrests were concentrated in the Ramallah and Al-Bireh governorate, where at least 20 Palestinians were reported arrested by the Israeli occupation army. Among the detainees is the mayor of Al-Bireh city, Islam Al-Tawil, a former prisoner in Israeli jails.
In Hebron, south of the territory, at least 13 Palestinians were arrested by the Israeli occupation army in the city and its neighboring towns and villages.
In Nablus, at least nine Palestinians were arrested by the Israeli occupation army as they raided the city and several towns and villages in the province.
In Jenin, Israeli occupation forces stormed the towns of Qabatiya and Kafr Ra’i, detaining at least six Palestinian civilians after raiding and searching their homes.
Meantime, the forces stormed and searched several homes in the northern province of Tubas, detaining two Palestinians. Another Palestinian was also reported arrested by the forces in the central province of Salfit.
The latest arrests are part of a massive Israeli arrest campaign that saw at hundreds of Palestinians arrested since the beginning of this month, coinciding with the genocidal Israeli aggression on Gaza.
