CAIRO, Friday, October 20, 2023 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas and Pakistani Prime Minister Anwar al-Haq discussed today the situation in the Gaza Strip.
During a phone call, they tackled the latest developments in the Palestinian arena, the ongoing efforts to stop the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people as well as sparing civilians the scourge of war.
The two leaders also stressed the importance of introducing medical and food aid and providing water and electricity to the Gaza Strip as quickly as possible.
President Abbas affirmed Palestine’s categorical rejection of the displacement of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, or Jerusalem.
He reiterated that peace and security can be achieved through the implementation of the two-state solution based on international legitimacy resolutions, and recognizing the State of Palestine on the entire territories of the West Bank, East Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip.
President Abbas extended his sincere thanks to the Pakistani Prime Minister and the brotherly people of Pakistan for their support for the rights of the Palestinian people in a sovereign state with East Jerusalem as its capital, and their efforts to support the Palestinian cause in all international forums.
For his part, the Pakistani Prime Minister affirmed that his country stands with Palestine to achieve its legitimate rights, stressing that Pakistan will continue to support Palestine in all international forums.
