HEBRON, Wednesday, October 18, 2023 (WAFA) – A Palestinian youth was shot with live ammunition and dozens of others suffocated tonight in confrontations with Israeli forces in the town of Tarqumiyah, northwest of Hebron, said WAFA correspondent.
Citing local sources, WAFA correspondent said that Israeli occupation forces raided the funeral house that was held by the town’s residents for the slain relatives of several Gaza workers residing in the town, who were killed in the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.
Forces reportedly attacked mourners and subjected several people to field interrogation.
Forces further stormed and searched several apartments in search for Gaza workers, spurring confrontations with residents, during which forces fired live and rubber rounds and tear gas canisters towards them, shooting and injuring a 27-year-old youth with live fire in the thigh. He was taken to hospital for treatment.
Dozens of others were treated at the scene from tear gas suffocation.
Since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on the Strip on October 7th, Israeli forces have launched what appears to be a vengeance attack against Gazans working inside Israel. Many workers were attacked in their workplaces inside Israel, beaten up, stripped naked, and left stranded at checkpoints. Relevant Palestinian bodies provided the workers with help and a safe place for them to stay.
The majority of Gaza workers were held under detention in an Israeli camp without trial or even legal representation.
