Young man killed by Israeli forces' fire in Tulkarem

TULKAREM, Friday, October 13, 2023 (WAFA) - A twenty-three-year-old young Palestinian youth was killed by the Israeli occupation soldiers' fire in Tulkarem refugee camp, bringing the number of Palestinians killed in the governorate today to four.

Violent confrontations broke out after Friday prayers in the vicinity of the Israeli Gishuri chemical factories, west of the city of Tulkarm, following a popular march denouncing the brutal Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip.

During the confrontations, Israeli occupation forces fired live bullets at protestors, killing three of them, in addition to critically injuring the aforementioned young man who later succumbed to his wounds. He was identified as Qassem Hajras, from the Tulkarem refugee camp.

The other three were identified as 25-year-old Sameh Abu Tabeekh, from Qalqilia’s village of Baqa al-Hatab, 38-year-old Baker Jame’en, from Tulkarem, 24-year-old Islam Abu Zanat, also from Tulkarem.

Fifteen others were injured and were all taken to hospitals in the city, where their conditions were described as serious and moderate.

Meanwhile, the ministry announced that medical teams succeeded in resuscitating the heart of a 15-year-old child after his heart stopped for about half an hour, the child was critically injured by live occupation bullets in the main artery in the thigh in Tulkarem.
