BETHLEHEM, Friday, October 12, 2023 (WAFA) – Four Palestinians were arrested by the Israeli occupation army this morning during separate incidents in the town of Beit Ummar, north of Hebron, in the Dheisheh refugee camp in Bethlehem, both in the occupied West Bank.
In the town of Beit Ummar, Israeli occupation forces raided the town and surrounded and opened gunfire at two homes west of the town. Subsequently, three local young men were detained, all of them in their twenties, said Mohammad Awad, a local activist.
Awad also reported that Israeli soldiers fired live ammunition intensively towards one of the two homes targeted by the Israeli raid, causing significant material damage to the property. Israeli occupation forces conducted searches in several other homes in the town as well.
Meantime, young man was wounded by live ammunition, and two others were arrested during confrontations with Israeli occupation forces in Dheisheh Refugee Camp, south of Bethlehem, Palestinian security sources said.
The sources informed WAFA that confrontations erupted following the Israeli forces' incursion into the refugee camp. During the confrontations, an 18-year-old young man was shot in the leg with live Israeli ammunition and was subsequently transferred to the hospital for treatment. In addition to this, two other young men were arrested in an Israeli raid on their homes.
