GAZA, Friday, September 15, 2023 (WAFA) – A young Palestinian man was injured by rubber-coated metal bullets and many others suffered from suffocation today, as Israeli occupation forces cracked down on protesters taking part in a mass protest near the border fence east of Gaza City against the Israeli siege of Gaza.
WAFA correspondent reported said Israeli soldiers stationed along the border fence fired rubber-coated metal bullets and teargas canisters at scores of young demonstrators. The protesters had gathered in protest of the ongoing Israeli blockade of the Gaza Strip and the continuing human rights abuses perpetrated by the Israeli occupation against the Palestinian people.
One young man was hit by a rubber-coated metal bullet in his leg during the demonstrations, while many others experienced varying degrees of suffocation due to the heavy use of teargas by the Israeli troops.
The protests in Gaza have become a recurring feature as Palestinians voice their discontent over the blockade, which has been in place for over 17 years. The people of Gaza continue to endure dire living conditions and restricted access to basic necessities, a situation compounded by the periodic Israeli attacks.
