RAMALLAH, Monday, September 5, 2022 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas arrived today in Egypt on an official visit, during which he will meet with his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
The President was received at the presidential hall at Cairo International Airport by Egypt’s Minister of Justice, Omar Marwan, Palestine's ambassador to Egypt and its permanent representative to the Arab League, Diab al-Louh, and advisors from the Palestinian embassy and delegate to the League of Arab States.
Al-Louh said that the president's visit aims to embody permanent and continuous consultation and cooperation with the Egyptian president on various issues at the Arab, regional, and international levels, especially the specific circumstances the region is going through.
He added that the summit meeting, which will bring together President Mahmoud Abbas with his Egyptian counterpart tomorrow, comes within the framework of joint coordination between the two leaders in an effort to confront the challenges facing the efforts of the Palestinian people to achieve their inalienable rights and the right to self-determination and establish their independent state with full national sovereignty over all the land of the State of Palestine, which was occupied in 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
