President Abbas, King Abdullah discuss the latest Israeli escalation in Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa Mosque

RAMALLAH, Monday, April 18, 2022 (WAFA) - President Mahmoud Abbas and Jordan’s King Abdullah II today discussed over the phone the latest developments in Palestine, especially what is happening in the city of Jerusalem of daily incursions into Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli extremists under the protection of the Israeli occupation forces who act brutally towards the innocent worshipers in flagrant violation of international law and the legal and historical status quo at the Mosque.

President Abbas also briefed King Abdullah on the latest contacts and correspondence carried out by Palestine.

The two leaders also agreed to continue consultation, coordination, and joint action in the international arena, and to contact the concerned parties in order to put a stop to these brutal assaults against Al-Aqsa Mosque and worshippers and to stop the killing and abuse of the Palestinian people.

Preparations are underway to hold a meeting of the Arab Ministerial Committee on Jerusalem during the next few days to take the necessary decisions and positions to stop this aggression.

President Abbas and King Abdullah also agreed to hold a meeting between them.
