RAMALLAH, Tuesday, December 21, 2021 (WAFA) - President Mahmoud Abbas today received an invitation to attend the Christmas midnight mass for the Greek Orthodox Church at Bethlehem’s Nativity Church.

Several orthodox Christian religious leaders visited the President at his Ramallah headquarters where they handed him the invitation.

The President congratulated the Christian denominations in the Holy Land and around the world who are celebrating Christmas on January 7 as per the Orthodox Church, while the Catholic Church celebrates it on December 25.

"Our Christian people are an essential component of our people, and Christmas is a national holiday for all of Palestine," said President Abbas, wishing that Palestinians would celebrate next Christmas when they are free and independent.
