President Abbas calls his South African counterpart, thanks him for his country’s support for Palestine

RAMALLAH, Thursday, August 19, 2021 (WAFA0 - President Mahmoud Abbas today telephoned his South African counterpart, President Cyril Ramaphosa, and briefed him on the latest developments in the Palestinian issue while valuing South Africa's support for the Palestinian people and their just cause.

President Abbas stressed Palestine’s interest in strengthening the special relationship between the Palestinian and South African people.

On his part, President Ramaphosa reaffirmed his country’s stand in support of the Palestinian cause and the right of the Palestinian people for self-determination, freedom, and independence.

He stressed his country’s constant support for the Palestinian cause at all international forums and its keenness to strengthen bilateral relations between their countries for the best interest of the friendly South African and Palestinian people.
