HEBRON, October 24, 2013 (WAFA) – An attorney representing Muntaha Heeh, arrested the day before at an Israeli army checkpoint outside Hebron, said Thursday that the army wants to frame Heeh with attempt to stab a soldier in order to keep her in prison.
Heeh, from the village of Surief, was arrested when soldiers stopped at taxi and attempted to search the passengers.
Heeh’s father said the soldiers harassed his daughter in the taxi in a provocative manner and so she slapped one of the soldiers in the face. Heeh was arrested.
Attorney Jad Qadamani, from the Prisoner Club, said after visiting Heeh at the Russian compound police station in Jerusalem that the army has charged Heeh with attempt to stab a soldier after soldiers planted a sharp object in her bag in order to frame her with the stabbing charge.
Heeh, he said, denied the charges.
Qadamani said the soldiers have beaten Heeh and they treat her very badly including cursing her and threatening her all the time.
Heeh works at a kindergarten in Beit Ummar, north of Hebron.
