RAMALLAH, March 11, 2013 (WAFA) – The three Palestinian dailies Monday highlighted the upcoming Israeli government’s formation led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Al-Ayyam daily headline read: “Netanyahu to announce his new government: [Yair] Lapid for Finance, [Moshe] Ya'alon for Defense, and [Naftali] Bennett for Commerce.”
Meanwhile, al-Hayat al-Jadida reported on the dispute between Israeli parties regarding the new Israeli government. It read: “The governmental formation in Israel in hard labor.”
Al-Quds daily highlighted the catastrophic consequences awaiting the Gaza Strip as a result to the recent flooding of the tunnels by Egypt to shut them down.
It reported on an Israeli upcoming campaign to change the status of the offspring of the Palestinian refugees, who were displaced in 1948.
It quoted Israel’s representative in the United Nations saying “the real obstacle to the peace process is the Palestinian refugees’ right to return and not the settlements.”
The ongoing attacks against Baba Amr neighborhood in the city of Homs in Syria and the tens of bodies in Damascus and Aleppo were featured on Al-Hayat al-Jadida front page.
Al-Ayyam reported on the Ministry of Finance announcing that the public employees’ February full salary will be paid next Monday, as Israel is expected to transfer 500 million shekels to the Palestinian Authority.
