Confrontations Erupt South of Hebron

HEBRON, October 12, 2011 (WAFA) – Confrontations between Israeli soldiers and Palestinians Wednesday erupted at a road junction near the town of Yatta, south of Hebron, according to Ratib al-Jabour, coordinator of the popular committee against the Wall and settlements in the east of Hebron.

He said that the Israeli soldiers, who were there to protect Jewish settlers from several settlements, built illegally on Palestinian land, fired rubber bullets, tear gas and acoustic bombs at Palestinians, causing suffocation cases among several Palestinians and arresting two Palestinian youths.

The injured were treated on the spot.
