RAMALLAH, October 10, 2011 (WAFA) –The meeting between representatives of the Palestinian prisoners’ movement in prisons and the Israeli prisons’ administrations failed due to the administrations’ insistence on their solitary confinement policy and prevention of education rights, Monday said Minister of Prisoners Affairs, Issa Qaraqi.
He told voice of Palestine that all members of the prisoners’ movement will join the hunger strike during the next two days, warning that prisoners will widen their strike by abstaining from drinking water.
The Arab League will hold an emergency meeting on Thursday, on a level of permanent representatives, in order to discuss the prisoners’ hunger strike, where he will urge them to uphold their responsibilities and brief them on the dangerous situation threatening the prisoners’ lives, he said.
Qaraqi had previously called to consider next Wednesday a national and a popular day and to participate in the solidarity events in support of the Palestinian prisoners detained at Israeli Jails.
