RAMALLAH, March 14, 2011 (WAFA)- President Mahmoud Abbas briefed on Monday Robert Serry, UN peace envoy to the Middle East, on recent developments in the region, particularly on the political dead-end with Israel due to the Israeli reject of stopping settlement activities.
Abbas said during his meeting with Serry that the international consensus condemning settlements proves that the Palestinian stance concerning settlements is correct, and that there is a need to stop settlement activities in order to return to negotiations.
He also called on Serry to support Palestinian national rights on the political and humanitarian level.
