AMMAN, March 11, 2011 (WAFA) - The Central Council of the Palestine Liberation Organization is scheduled to hold a regular two-day session in Ramallah on Wednesday to discuss latest political developments in the area, according to Salim Zanoun, head of the Palestine National Council (PNC).
Zanoun said invitations were sent out to members of the Central Council to meet on March 16 at the presidential headquarters in Ramallah.
The meeting will discuss efforts to declare statehood by the September goal and current political developments, as well as holding presidential and legislative elections in the Palestinian Territory, national reconciliation and unity and activating the committee in charge of preparing for PNC elections.
The PNC is the highest legislative body for Palestinians at home and in the diaspora with over 600 members. The Central Council has 120 members named from among the PNC members.
