GAZA, August 6, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli military issued new evacuation orders for residents remaining in nine areas of the Zeitoun neighborhood in eastern Gaza City, calling on them to move south toward the Al-Mawasi area in southern Gaza.
Residents in the targeted areas were warned to "evacuate immediately" toward Al-Mawasi, west of Khan Younis. The new orders come amid intensified Israeli aerial and ground bombardments across Gaza and the continued forced displacement of tens of thousands of Palestinians from their homes.
The United Nations has repeatedly warned of an escalating humanitarian catastrophe in the strip.
On June 29, the occupation warned citizens to evacuate areas in the Zeitoun neighborhood in Gaza City, and it periodically issues similar warnings covering various areas of the Gaza Strip.
Despite Israeli claims that southern areas like Al-Mawasi are "safe zones," the military continues to bomb all parts of the Gaza Strip, including locations it has designated for
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) stated last month that 82% of the Gaza Strip is under evacuation orders from the occupation, and that citizens have nowhere to go as the destruction of facilities and shelters continues.
