RAMALLAH, November 28, 2016 (WAFA) – Foreign Minister Riyad Malki said Monday work on a draft resolution on the illegal Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories to be submitted to the United Nations Security Council is underway and will be ready in few days.
Speaking to Voice of Palestine radio, Malki said consultations with the Arab countries are continuing to ensure their support to the Palestinian bid in the international organization.
He said that he expects the resolution to be submitted to a vote before the end of this year.
Malki said members of the Non-Aligned Movement, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and other friendly countries have pledged to vote in favor of the resolution.
Regarding France’s effort to hold an international peace conference, the foreign minister said talks are underway with Arab countries regarding the latest on this effort.
He said the United States position on participation in the conference that will be held at the level of foreign ministers has not been clarified yet.
