NABLUS, Saturday, April 13, 2019 (WAFA) – A Palestinian was moderately injured on Saturday evening in an attack by extremist Jewish settlers on the village of Urif, to the south of Nablus in the occupied West Bank, the second attack in less than two hours.
Naji Aref Sabbah, a local citizen, sustained a moderate fracture in his shoulder after he was hit by a rock by the attacking settlers, according to Ghassan Daghlas, an official who monitors settler violence in the area.
Earlier today, settlers attacked and partially destroyed two Palestinian private-owned vehicles two vehicles belonging to Loai and Ziad Shehadeh, two local citizens from Urif, destroying the windshields of the two vehicles.
Local citizens of Urif managed to counter the first attack and forced the settlers back.
The settlement of Yitzhar is notorious for its hardcore Jewish settler community who in the past committed several attacks against Palestinians and their property, including arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, attacks on vulnerable homes, among others.
Settler vandalism of Palestinian property in the occupied territories is almost a daily occurrence, and attacks by settlers are rarely prosecuted by Israeli occupation authorities.
