Israeli settlers attack Palestinian woman, son in Hebron

HEBRON, Saturday, March 23, 2019 (WAFA) – Israeli settlers attacked this afternoon a woman and her son in Tel Romeida neighborhood of the occupied city of Hebron in the south of the West Bank, according to local and Palestinian security forces.

They told WAFA that settlers from an illegal settlement outpost in the neighborhood attacked the woman and her son while they were in their home, located near the settlement. The settlers beat the woman and her son and verbally attacked them.

Tel Romeida is located in the Israeli-army controlled area of Hebron known as H2 and where several hundred fanatic Jewish settlers are concentrated in the midst of several thousand Palestinian residents.

Palestinian families in H2 area regularly complain of harassment and assaults by armed Jewish settlers protected by the army, which seem to have increased with the departure of the multinational monitoring team, the Temporary International Presence in Hebron (TIPH), in February after Israel refused to renew their mandate after 22 years in service.
