Settlers attack Nablus-area village with stones

NABLUS, Saturday, January 11, 2019 (WAFA) – Israeli settlers attacked on Saturday homes of Palestinians in the village of Burqa, north of Nablus in the occupied West Bank, according to a local official.

The settlers, who converged on the evacuated settlement of Homesh, nearby, were confronted by local citizens who forced them to leave the village. No injuries or damages were reported.

Ghassan Daghlas, who monitors settlement activities in the area, told WAFA that a number of settlers protected by a military escort attacked with stones Palestinians’ homes in the northeastern outskirts of the village.

Jewish settlers repeatedly perform provocative tours of the settlement, apparently in an attempt to rebuild it.

The settlement was evacuated in 2005 as part of Israel’s unilateral disengagement from the Gaza Strip and the dismantling of four settlements and an outpost in the northern West Bank.
