NABLUS, Monday, December 10, 2018 (WAFA) – Israeli settlers attacked with stones on Sunday night and early Monday Palestinian commuters travelling on roads in the northern West Bank causing damage to cars and panic among passengers, particularly children, said a local activist.
Ghassan Daghlas, who monitors settlement activities in the northern West Bank, told WAFA that Israeli settlers hurled stones at vehicles with Palestinian license plates near Hawwara checkpoint, along Ramallah-Nablus Road, and near the Shavi Shomron settlement, northwest of Nablus.
Settlers also ambushed Palestinian vehicles traveling along Nablus-Tulkarem Road as well as Palestinian homes in Kafr al-Dik village, west of Salfit.
Settler violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.
Settlers‘ violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees and attacks on vulnerable homes, among others.
Over 600,000 Israelis live in Jewish-only settlements across occupied East Jerusalem and the West Bank in violation of international law.
