Olive harvesters attacked by Israeli settlers in northern West Bank village

NABLUS, Saturday, October 20, 2018 (WAFA) – Jewish settlers attacked on Saturday Palestinian farmers and olive harvesters in the village of Burin, south of the northern West Bank city of Nablus.

Witnesses told WAFA that a group of settlers threw rocks at the farmers as they were harvesting their olive crops in an attempt to get them to leave their lands. The farmers attempted to ward off the settlers, said the witnesses. Settlers often steal the olive crops after the farmers flee the area in fear for their life.

Extremist Jewish settlers have recently been escalating their attacks against Palestinian farmers as the olive harvest season reaches a peak. Farmers with land near illegal Jewish settlements are the most targeted.

Three days ago, armed settlers attacked farmers and olive pickers in the fields between the villages of Burqa and Bazaria, northwest of Nablus, which resulted in one having a broken arm and another was left with a head injury.
