QALQILIA, Sunday, October 14, 2018 (WAFA) – A group of Israeli settlers destroyed 22 olive trees and stole the harvest of around 60 others in the town of Ferata, east of Qalqilia, according to the land owner.
The owner, Ibrahim Salah, told WAFA settlers from the illegal Israeli settlement outpost of ‘Havat Gilad’ razed about a dunum and a half of his land, destroying around 22 60-year-old fruitful olive trees.
Settlers also stole the olive harvest of around 60 trees.
Farmers in the said town can only access their land by means of ‘prior coordination‘ with the Israeli authorities. The Israeli authorities impose restrictions on access to olive groves located near the Havat Gilad settlement, built illegally on Palestinian land, granting them access only twice a year; to cultivate their land in the spring and harvest the olives in the fall.
