HEBRON, September 4, 2018 (WAFA) – Palestinian students clashed on Tuesday with Israeli soldiers in the old town of Hebron in protest against the army killing of a Palestinian in the southern West Bank city the day before as Jewish settlers broke into a Palestinian home and moved into it, according to local sources.
They said students from two schools in the south of Hebron threw rocks at Israeli soldiers stationed in the old town, which is under full Israeli army control. The soldiers fired back rubber bullets and stun grenades causing dozens of suffocation cases among students in Tareq bin Ziad and Hebron Elementary schools. Soldiers also beat teachers and students at Hebron Elementary School.
The soldiers killed on Sunday Wael Jabari, 27, a father of two children aged 6 and 4 years, at an army checkpoint not far from his home.
Meanwhile, Israeli settlers took over a Palestinian home in the old town of Hebron on Monday night and moved furniture into the house while soldiers were watching and did not intervene, according to Aref Jaber, a local activist.
He said the house, owned by the Zatari family, is located near the Ibrahimi mosque.
He said the settlers have attempted three months ago to take over the same house but without success.
