Israeli settlers chop off 30 olive trees near Nablus

JENIN, August 24, 2018 (WAFA) – Jewish settlers chopped off about 30 olive trees in the village of Sawiya, to the south of Nablus in the occupied West Bank, local sources said on Friday.

Ghassan Daghlas, who monitors settlement activity in the northern West Bank, told WAFA that settlers from the illegal settlement of Rahalim chopped off the trees which belong to a local Palestinian citizen.

Settlers regularly target olive trees in that area, particularly as the olive harvest season, a main source of income to hundreds of Palestinian families, approaches.
