HEBRON, October 28, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces on Wednesday detained a Palestinian victim of a colonist assault in the Khirbet Quwaweis of Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, according to an activist.
Osama Makhamreh told WAFA that colonists broke into the vicinity of a man’s dwelling in the community, brutally assaulted him, and vandalized his belongings, including agricultural tools and equipment.
He added that Israeli occupation forces subsequently arrived at the scene and rounded the man up.
Colonists’ violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.
Colonists’ violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes, among others.
Approximately 1 million Israeli colonists are living in colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem in violation of international law.
