BRUSSELS, October 18, 2026 (WAFA) – The European Union condemned, on Sunday, recent attacks carried out by colonists in the West Bank, including assaults targeting European diplomats in the city of Ramallah.
In a statement, Kaja Kallas, the European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, emphasized the necessity of ensuring full accountability for those responsible for the attacks. She called for the implementation of effective measures to prevent the ongoing violence and harassment faced by Palestinians—including during the current olive harvest season—as well as attacks targeting journalists.
Kallas urged the Israeli occupation authorities to fully comply with international humanitarian law and international human rights law, and to halt settlement expansion.
Yesterday, a group of colonists attacked diplomatic vehicles belonging to European missions in the village of Taybeh, east of Ramallah. The colonists, who were masked and armed with clubs, assaulted delegations from several European diplomatic missions as they were departing the village.
