RAMALLAH, October 15, 2026 (WAFA) — Qatar condemned Colombia’s opening of an embassy to Israel in occupied Jerusalem, describing the move as a violation of international law and relevant international resolutions, particularly UN Security Council Resolution 478 of 1980.
In a statement, Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed the country’s rejection of any measures that would alter Jerusalem’s legal and historical status.
It further called on the international community to assume its responsibilities and take action against any attempts to impose a new reality in the occupied city, in order to preserve its legal and historical status and safeguard the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
