RAMALLAH, October 11, 2026 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Presidency condemned the attack targeting King Khalid International Airport in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, which left 12 people dead and 309 others injured, stressing that targeting civilians and civilian facilities constitutes a serious violation of international law and international humanitarian law.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the Presidency described the attack as an unacceptable assault on Saudi Arabia’s security, sovereignty and stability.
The statement expressed President Mahmoud Abbas’ sincere condolences and sympathy to Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, the Saudi government and people, and the families of the victims. He also wished those injured a speedy recovery.
The Presidency reaffirmed the State of Palestine’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia, its leadership and people, stressing that Palestine stands alongside the kingdom in confronting any threats to its security, sovereignty and the safety of its citizens and residents.
It emphasized that any attack on Saudi Arabia’s security constitutes an unacceptable threat to the security and stability of the entire region and cannot be justified under any pretext.
The statement added that targeting airports and civilian infrastructure and endangering innocent lives requires a clear and firm international response that rejects attacks against civilians and civilian facilities and puts an end to acts threatening regional security and peace.
The Presidency reiterated Palestine’s position in support of respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of states and rejecting attacks that undermine their security and stability. It stressed that Arab solidarity is essential to protecting Arab countries and their peoples and preserving regional stability.
