JERUSALEM, September 16, 2026 (WAFA) — Israeli forces and colonists assaulted several Palestinians from the town of Anata, northeast of occupied Jerusalem, on Wednesday while they were harvesting olives on their land near an Israeli military camp in the area. Several Palestinians were also detained.
Local sources reported that the targeted land belongs to the Mousa family from Anata. Israeli forces and colonists attacked the farmers and prevented them from continuing the harvest, in an attempt to seize the crop and forcibly drive them off their land.
The sources added that several Palestinians who arrived at the site to support the farmers against the colonists’ attack were beaten and subjected to mistreatment. Israeli forces also detained a large number of them, including Hussein Ahmad Mousa, his two sons Ayman and Mohammad, his brother Adli, and Adli’s son Bilal.
The assault also left several Palestinians injured with various injuries as a result of severe beatings and direct attacks by settlers and Israeli soldiers.
The attacks come amid a rise in assaults by colonists and Israeli forces against Palestinian farmers during the olive harvest season across the West Bank, aimed at preventing them from accessing their land and taking control of it.
