RAMALLAH, September 16, 2026 (WAFA) — German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said that establishing a Palestinian state is the best path to achieving peace and security in the Middle East.
In a statement, Merz said: “We must lay the foundations for a new order under which Israelis, Palestinians and their neighbors can live in peace and security.”
“Our government is working toward this goal, and we believe the best way to achieve it is through the establishment of a Palestinian state alongside Israel,” he added.
