JENIN, October 6, 2026 (WAFA) – The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission revealed that occupation authorities have issued a new military order—designated "33/26 Urgent/Immediate" and dated October 5, 2026—to seize land in the Al-Jabriyat neighborhood of Jenin, an area classified as "Area A."
The order targets 0.741 dunams (equivalent to 741 square meters) across plots 41, 42, and 50 of Basin 20071, citing "urgent military purposes." The accompanying map depicts a narrow strip following the path of a road within the neighborhood.
The Commission explained that comparing the maps attached to the new order with those of the previous order (70/26, dated May 7, 2026)—which targeted 7.247 dunams in the same basin—reveals a limited partial overlap at the western end of the new strip with the winding corridor covered by the previous order, followed by an eastward extension beyond those boundaries.
Consequently, the newly targeted area is spatially connected to the previously targeted land; however, due to this overlap, the total area does not represent a net increase over the previously seized area.
The Commission noted that the new order is valid for 60 days from the date of signing. It sets a 24-hour deadline for filing objections following the site visit with landowners—compared to a seven-day window in the previous order—and specifies the end of 2031 as the expiration date for the order's validity. The new order was issued independently, without any provision indicating the amendment or revocation of the previous order.
The organization holds the view that the gravity of the measure extends beyond the limited scope of the targeted area; rather, it lies in the interconnectedness of the lands and corridors covered by military orders within the Palestinian urban fabric.
The extension of a new strip—linking a previously targeted zone to a road segment outside it—demonstrates how land-seizure measures accumulate to expand military control over the territory and movement routes in a neighborhood situated within Area A.
