RAMALLAH, October 6, 2026 (WAFA) – Colonists set fire to a house today, Tuesday, in the village of Burqa, east of Ramallah.
Sayel Kanaan, head of the Burqa Village Council, told WAFA that a group of colonists stormed the village and set fire to the home of resident Ahmed Muhammad Bajes.
The blaze caused extensive damage to the house, which is inhabited by a family of five.
He noted that, about a month ago, colonists had cut down dozens of olive trees and vandalized the vehicle belonging to Bajes, who holds American citizenship.
The village of Burqa suffers from daily colonists' attacks on residents' homes and agricultural lands, alongside persistent attempts to storm the village and terrorize its inhabitants.
Last month, colonists carried out 647 attacks. These were concentrated in the Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate (506 attacks), followed by Nablus (342), Hebron (272), Jenin (202), Bethlehem (187), Tulkarm (152), and Jerusalem (149).
