BETHLEHEM, October 6, 2026 (WAFA) – Terrorist colonists fired shots today, Tuesday, at shepherds in the village of Al-Maniya, southeast of Bethlehem; no injuries were reported.
Ahmed Kawazbeh, head of the Al-Maniya Village Council, told WAFA correspondent that colonists attacked shepherds in the "Khalayel al-Qasr" area, east of the village, firing shots at them before continuing to harass the shepherds and local residents.
He added that colonists attacks against the village and its residents have escalated recently, including assaults on homes and shepherds, the destruction of water lines, and the theft of water tanks and pumping generators. He noted that the colonists remain present in the area.
Al-Maniya witnessed a similar attack on residents' homes last July, during which a young man was injured by shrapnel from colonists' gunfire. Prior to that, colonists had destroyed an irrigation network and blocked a road leading to residents' homes.
The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission reported that occupation forces and colonists carried out 2,051 attacks in the West Bank last September—647 of which were committed by colonists—with 48 colonists' attacks recorded in the Bethlehem governorate during the month.
Furthermore, between October 7, 2023, and early October 2026, the Commission documented 14,742 attacks carried out by colonists in the West Bank, resulting in the deaths of 66 citizens.
