RAMALLAH, October 1, 2026 (WAFA) — Israeli colonists this evening reclosed an iron gate isolating a Palestinian home in the village of Umm Safa, north of Ramallah.
Head of the Umm Safa village council, Marwan Sabbah, said the colonists reclosed the iron gate east of the village, which isolates the home of Palestinian citizen Mohammad Al-Obeidat.
Sabbah said the Palestinian Civil Coordination had managed to open the gate this morning after securing a decision from the Israeli occupation authorities to do so, but the colonists closed it again this evening. The besieged home is inhabited by 15 Palestinians.
The Umm Safa village council issued an urgent appeal yesterday to rescue the Al-Obeidat family from the siege imposed on their home by the closure of roads leading to it. The restrictions have prevented patients from leaving the home to receive medical treatment and children from attending school over the past week.
