JERUSALEM, September 28, 2026 (WAFA) – Dozens of colonists stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound this morning, Monday, through the Mughrabi Gate, under heavy protection from the Israeli occupation police.

It is worth noting that 1,500 colonists and rabbis stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque yesterday, performing Talmudic rituals and prayers, particularly near the Cotton Merchants' Gate (Bab al-Qattanin), one of the mosque's gates.

This coincided with the introduction of so-called "plant offerings" into the courtyards, along with chanting, dancing, and performing collective prostrations and supplications. These actions reflect a continuous escalation in the imposition of Talmudic rituals within the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound and attempts to alter its historical and legal status quo.

These incursions come amidst intensified military measures by the Israeli occupation authorities around the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Old City, and restrictions imposed on the entry and movement of worshippers.

September witnessed repeated incursions, including the entry of 480 colonists on September 13, coinciding with the so-called "Hebrew New Year," and approximately 100 settlers on September 20 during "Yom Kippur."

According to data from the Jerusalem Governorate, 40,661 settlers stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound from the beginning of the year until the end of August 2026, while nearly 800 orders banning Palestinians from the mosque were issued from the beginning of the year until early this month.
