HEBRON, September 23, 2026 (WAFA) – An Israeli colonist on Wednesday shot and injured a Palestinian in Masafer Yatta, south of Hebron, according to local sources.
They said that a colonist chased several workers near the Um Qussa area in Masafer Yatta as they were heading to their workplaces, and opened live fire at them, injuring one of them in the thigh.
They added that ambulance crews evacuated the casualty to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Colonists’ violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.
Colonists’ violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes, among others.
Approximately 1 million Israeli colonists are living in colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem in violation of international law.
