Salfit, September 7, 2026 (WAFA) - Israeli colonist militias continued on Monday bulldozing vast tracts of Palestinian-owned land northwest of the town of Deir Ballut, west of Salfit, according to eyewitnesses.

They said that colonists’ bulldozers proceeded with razing dozens of dunams, adjacent to a recently established pastoral colonial outpost, with the aim of opening colonist-only roads and connecting colonial outposts to one another.

Meanwhile, colonists forced several young men to leave the municipal playground near the Deir Ballut Boys Secondary School.

Israel and illegal Israeli Jewish supremacist colonists are accelerating efforts to impose new realities throughout the occupied West Bank, extending colonial settlement expansion and land seizures increasingly into areas classified under the Oslo Accords as Areas A and B.

The measures include settlement construction, new outposts, road building, land confiscation, control over water sources and growing restrictions on Palestinians’ movement and access to their land.

The expansion is significant because Israel’s colonial settlement project has historically been concentrated overwhelmingly in Area C, which remained under full Israeli control following the Oslo Accords. The increasing extension of Israeli colonies and administrative measures into Areas A and B further threatens geographical continuity between Palestinian cities, towns and communities.

Colonist violence is a central mechanism for expanding territorial control and forcing Palestinians from their land.

Colonists’ violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.

Colonists’ violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes, among others.

Approximately 1 million Israeli colonists are living in colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem in violation of international law.
