Israeli forces demolish two inhabited homes in Birin village, east of Hebron

 

HEBRON, August 20, 2026 (WAFA) — Israeli occupation forces today demolished two inhabited homes in Birin village, east of Hebron.

Birin Village Council head Farid Barqan told WAFA that Israeli forces raided the village and demolished the two homes with bulldozers in the Khallat al-Furn and Jurat al-Kammun areas. The homes belonged to residents Wail Ghaith and Hamza al-Zein.

Barqan said Ghaith's home measured 100 square meters, while al-Zein's home measured 80 square meters.

According to data, Israeli authorities carried out 80 demolition operations during July, targeting 165 structures, including 80 inhabited homes, eight uninhabited homes, 63 agricultural structures and 11 sources of livelihood.

The demolitions were concentrated in several governorates, including Qalqilya, where 34 structures were targeted, Hebron with 26, Ramallah and al-Bireh with 22, and Bethlehem with 16, among others.
