HEBRON, August 20, 2026 (WAFA) — Israeli occupation forces today transported several mobile homes, or caravans, to a newly established settlement outpost on Mount Tarousa, west of Hebron.
WAFA correspondent reported that Israeli military trucks transported several caravans to the new outpost, known as "Doron," which Israeli forces began establishing in June on Palestinian-owned land in the Mount Tarousa area, belonging to the town of Dura.
Israeli forces, accompanied by a group of colonists, began excavation and land-grading works in the area in June in preparation for establishing a new settlement there.
The move followed a series of attacks that began when armed colonists, under the protection of Israeli forces, raided the area, erected a tent and placed a sign announcing the establishment of a new settlement called "Doron."
Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich later raided the area along with several government ministers and settler leaders and took part in a ceremony laying the foundation stone for the planned "Doron" settlement, to be built on Palestinian-owned land.
"Doron" is one of 19 new settlements approved by the Israeli government for establishment in the West Bank last year, as part of plans aimed at expanding settlements and facilitating the seizure of additional Palestinian land.
