HEBRON, August 19, 2026 (WAFA) - Armed Israeli colonists on Wednesday plowed Palestinian-owned land in the Abda area, south of Hebron, according to WAFA correspondent.
He reported that armed colonists broke into a Palestinian-owned olive orchard in the Abda Triangle area and plowed the land in preparation for taking it over to make room for colonial settlement construction.
Meanwhile, colonists began rebuilding a colonial outpost on Palestinian-owned land in Wadi al-Rakhim of Masafer Yatta after the occupation forces had evacuated the site about two days ago following legal proceedings by the landowners.
Osama Makhamreh told WAFA that colonists had erected a tent in the area about two days ago as a first step toward taking it over to establish a colonial outpost. Following legal action by Palestinian inhabitants, the occupying forces were compelled to evacuate the colonists and dismantle the tent.
Makhamreh added that inhabitants were surprised on Wednesday when colonists brought concrete blocks to the site and began construction.
Colonists’ violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.
Colonists’ violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes, among others.
Approximately 1 million Israeli colonists are living in colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem in violation of international law.
