JERUSALEM, August 16, 2026 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces on Sunday night raided the vicinity of a Palestinian family home threatened with forced eviction for the benefit of colonists in the East Jerusalem town of Silwan, according to the Jerusalem Governorate.
The occupation authorities had previously issued an eviction order targeting a home and parts of other homes belonging to the Maragha family in Silwan, threatening the family with the loss of parts of their residences, where they have lived for decades.
The order includes the 40-square-meter home of Na’im Maragha, which was built in 1966 and is inhabited by four people.
It also targets the eviction of 40 square meters of Salah Maragha’s 68-square-meter home, which is also inhabited by four people.
Furthermore, the order targets the home of educator Inam Maragha and her sister, Rabia, mandating the partial eviction of a six-square-meter section of their residence despite the sisters' severe mobility impairments and critical health conditions.
