NABLUS, August 15, 2026 (WAFA) — Israeli colonists on Saturday attacked a team from the Qusra municipality south of Nablus as it attempted to restore electricity to homes that have been under siege for about a week, while Israeli forces detained three members of the crew.

Local sources told WAFA that the municipal crew headed to the homes after receiving coordination to restore electricity, which colonists had cut off more than a week ago. The colonists attacked and surrounded the crew before Israeli forces intervened and detained three of its members.

Meantime, colonists continued to besiege the homes of three Palestinian families in Qusra amid a deployment of Israeli forces in the area, the sources said.

According to the sources, colonists have been attempting for about four months to raid and seize one of the homes, prompting family members to maintain a round-the-clock presence there on a rotating basis to protect it.

The colonists have repeatedly cut electricity to the home, pelted it with stones and surrounded it, the sources said.

The home is located on the summit of Ras al-Ain Mountain, one of the elevated areas surrounding the town.

According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, Israeli forces and colonists carried out 2,256 attacks against Palestinians, their land and property in July, including 1,458 attacks by Israeli forces and 798 by colonists.

The commission said the attacks were concentrated in the governorates of Ramallah and al-Bireh, with 260 attacks, followed by Nablus with 247, Jenin with 190, Bethlehem with 185 and Hebron with 170.

The commission said the figures reflect coordination between military force and colonist attacks, with the Israeli army providing protection and support that enables the attacks to continue and their outcomes to become established realities on the ground.
