JENIN, August 9, 2026 (WAFA) — Israeli colonists cut down dozens of guava and avocado trees overnight on Palestinian-owned land in the village of Khirbet Farasin, located west of Jenin in the occupied West Bank, according to local sources.

The sources told WAFA that the land belongs to Palestinian farmer Raed Ahmad Amarnah, adding that some of the trees were around 10 years old. The colonists deliberately targeted the trees under cover of darkness, as part of ongoing attacks on the area’s agricultural land.

The latest attack was not the first, the sources said, noting that colonists cut down hundreds of trees in the area during the previous agricultural season. They added that the trees are often deliberately targeted shortly before their harvest season, depriving Palestinian landowners of their crops and agricultural income.

The village has faced repeated attacks by colonists from the nearby Israeli settlement of Hermesh, including attacks targeting agricultural land, trees and farmers, amid escalating attacks on Palestinian property and livelihoods.
